The WEI offers two six-month long mentoring programs providing personal and leadership development training to cultivate, inspire, and empower young women and girls ages 14-24, and women entrepreneurs of color ages 20-40. There are two cohorts per year per age grouping.
The Young Professional Black Women’s Mentoring Initiative is an incubator-program (Entrepreneurism 101) which includes instruction in business formation, business planning and modeling, marketing/branding/distribution, business/financial management, and assistance in building management teams. The Girls Empowerment Club includes monthly workshops with peer-to-peer mentoring focused in academic achievement, workforce readiness, and personal development/self-esteem building. Topics include: managing change, critical thinking, emotional and conversational intelligence, effective salary and employment negotiations, and conflict management/resolution.
Both programs include individual career assessments, 4-5 self-development reading titles, lunch, professional speakers, assessments, and a youth empowerment summit and/or women’s leadership conference. Click on the link and request your application TODAY.
Mentoring and training initiatives (for ages 14-40) advance our mission and vision to create pay equity, opportunity, and economic sustainability for all women and girls while skillfully addressing the race and gender income gap through job training/readiness, improved interpersonal communication skills, internships, and identifiable pathways to entrepreneurism through professional development, technical assistance, and strategic alliances.
